Will this lesson ever be learned?!

Yesterday at pick-up from summer camp, I was informed that Eli had hit his friend Evan with a piece of pottery and hurt him.  He has hit kids at camp before and we were told if he does it again, he can’t come back. They were sweet, but if they have to call me today, he’s out. Fun.

Anyway, so what they do at school is have him draw out what happened:

So when I got home the first thing I said was that we needed to talk about what happened. He rushed into his room, slammed the door, and a few minutes later opened it and threw out this note:

I will not talk about the problem. By the way I hate you.

We did discuss the drawing and what happened (he wasn’t even mad or sad or whatever, he just wanted to hit him! I hope sociopathic behavior isn’t inborn!)

So, I told him he would have to write an apology note to Evan, and to his teachers. He wrote the first one, but asked me to write the second one and he would sign it. Here are the envelopes and notes:
