Eli is READING!

So last Saturday night we’re getting all snuggly in Eli’s bed to start reading. He checked out these two cool books from his school library last week and we (that is, Scott and I) have read them to him every night since. They are the kind with the big words, short sentences, etc.

Well, all of a sudden Eliot grabs the book out of my hands and starts reading the thing! He read each word carefully, sounding them out and taking his time to look at the pictures and figure out the words. He read the book word for word, cover to cover! Then he picked up the other one and did the same thing. THEN he picked out a book we had gotten from our local library and read THAT ONE TOO! I was totally stunned. We got video.

So cool!!!!
