First day of Kindergarten!

Yea! The day has finally come – Eli’s first day of Kindergarten at Prospect Sierra!

The evening before school, his class gathered at a local park to meet the new teachers and students and tell everyone what was coming the next morning. Eli had a great time with his new friends Will (the kid with the curly black hair) and others. When Diep (one of his two teachers – the other is Liz – to teach the 18 students in his class) started to read a story about the first day of Kindergarten, Eliot was the first kid to come forward for the story and fully participate in their first exchanges as teacher and students – so cute! Then they all rallied on the slide for some good pre-K bonding.

As you can see from the pictures below, all the kids wore Prospect Sierra orange shirts for the first day of school. They were so cute together. Eli was absolutely bursting with excitement about the day and his new place to learn and explore and make friends. The energy and overall happiness around the event was palpable and highly contagious 🙂 … At 8:30 each day, all the kids line up to go into the classroom. Today, the parents were invited to the morning meeting led by Liz, which was great. Then we were all waved goodbye as the kids and their new teachers went on with their day. The parents gathered together in the auditorium for coffee and sweets as we basked in the wonder of it all. it’s a beautiful thing!
